I am much happier now and this journey has given me the confidence to set goals - both personal and professional. I now realize I have the power and capability to accomplish great things.
The Challenge came at the perfect time. A few old photos showed me how much I had changed for the worse over the years. I did not realize how low my self-confidence had gotten and how it was affecting my work and personal life. I felt like I was watching my life instead of living it.
I was tired of being afraid to go in my closet and face which clothes would fit and which ones would be too small. I decided to be faithful to the Challenge and that it was definitely worth the effort. I was happy when I lost my first 11 pounds during the Challenge, but was skeptical that I wouldn’t continue to lose weight. When I continued to lose I knew that I had a real chance to meet my goal. I made sure to plan my meals and pay attention to labels when I went to the grocery store.
People started noticing the weight loss and my kids became motivated to support me. Usually I keep my weight loss journey to myself but, surprisingly, telling my family and friends helped me be more accountable. All the compliments I received from people really boosted my confidence and made me realize I can actually do something right. This is the most I have lost in 10 years and I am so excited to keep going. For the first time, in a long time, I feel like I’m actually living!
